Over time and as our bodies age, skin loses its elasticity and from sun damage, weight fluctuation, gravity, and stress can be seen in our faces. Deep creases form between the nose and mouth; the jaw line grows slack and jowly; folds and fat deposits appear around the neck. Face lift procedures can't actually stop the aging process, but they can set back back the clock of time. Face lift procedures (known as rhytidectomy) improve the most visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles, and redraping the skin of your face and neck.
Face lift procedures can be done alone, or in conjunction with other procedures such as a forehead lift, eyelid surgery, or nose reshaping.
